A music icon, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, joined Mikey O this morning to talk about teaming up with actor John Stamos and releasing a COVID-19 song benefiting food banks all across the country.

Michael Edward Love was born on March 15, 1941 in Los Angeles, California. The Beach Boys band began to take shape early in Love's life. He was cousins with eventual band mates Brian Wilson and his brothers Carl and Dennis. They began molding the Beach Boy sound at family get-togethers, especially at Christmas.

John Phillip Stamos was born on August 19, 1963 in Cypress, California. Stamos attended his first Beach Boy concert at the age of 15.  Even though his parents supported his dream of becoming an actor, they enrolled him in Cypress College in 1981.  John skipped his first semester in college, with his father's blessing, and pursed his acting career.  Just three weeks later he landed his first role as Blackie Parrish on General Hospital.

Here's Mike's interview with Mikey O this morning:

Here's the new benefit song Mike Love recorded, with occasional Beach Boy, John Stamos. It's called This Too Shall Pass, and all royalties will go to Feeding America's COVID-19 Response Fund, helping food banks across the country as they support communities impacted by the pandemic.  Links are below the video.
