‘Arrested Development’ Season 4 Officially Increases Episode Order
It's been a good while since we've had any real news from the long-awaited fourth season of 'Arrested Development,' but it seems the Bluth family has decided to give us an early Christmas present. Not only is the Netflix revival season still due in the sprring, all episodes to be released at once, but we've confirmed that 'Arrested Development' season 4 has grown from it's initial 10-episode order! How big will the new season be, and will it lead to the movie?
Fantastic news for 'Arrested Development' fans, as Netflix's revival season of the cancelled, yet critically-acclaimed series has officially gotten bigger. Whereas earlier comments from series star David Cross suggested that extra material and storylines added by creator Mitch Hurwitz could lead to additional episodes, Deadline has confirmed that Netflix officially plans to expand the order from the initial 10 to as high as 15 episodes.
“We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix,” a Netflix spokeswoman said. “At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do.”
Fortunately, the additional order shouldn't impact production, as the studio has allowed creator Mitch Hurwitz the leeway to work around the actors' busy schedules and likely resume filming in January. Netflix still plans to release the new episodes at an undetermined spring date.
And for those who weren't excited enough, 'Arrested Development' season 4 features appearances from Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter, ‘Parks and Recreation‘s’ Ben Schwartz, ‘Up All Night’s’ Chris Diamantopoulos, all three stars of Comedy Central’s ‘Workaholics,’ ‘Mad Men’s’ John Slattery, Isla Fisher and Terry Crews, as well as returning series players Carl Weathers, Jeff Garlin, Liza Minnelli, Judy Greer, Henry Winkler and Scott Baio.
It's a wonderful network! Tell us what you want to see from 'Arrested Development's extended fourth season in the comments!
