Regardless of whether you are a fan of Daylight Saving Time or not. The truth is that it will happen one way or another. I came up in the day when we had to literally set the clocks back or forward depending on the season. Now the way technology is we no longer have to worry about doing this as it is done automatically.

This Saturday night before you turn in for the night you need to be prepared to lose an hour of sleep, but we will get a little extra sunlight to round out the day. With that being said I have compiled my personal top 5 things that we can take advantage of when it comes to having that additional hour of sun.

Finish Up Your Errands For The Day

I know a woman's work is never done and after a hard day at work it seems like the time just goes by too fast. You can utilize that extra hour of sun to do the grocery runs or get the kids to those after-school extracurricular activities and still have a little time for yourself.

Add that workout into your schedule

Many of us gave up working out because we were trying to get in before dark, or we'd get so consumed with work that we didn't have the time. With that extra hour of sun, this could be the perfect time to grab a friend and hit the local tracks for a couple of miles during the afternoon or grab the bicycle for a few laps around the neighborhood. Not only will it help you physically but also mentally after a long day.

Date Night

I am a proponent for dating especially for keeping the spark alive and possibly families together. Most of the time we don't partake in extra things because of the time getting away and wanting to get to bed early. Now you can take that special person out on a date at 6 or 7 and not worry about the darkness getting in the way. That extra daylight allows for a stroll in the park or taking in an early movie and still being able to get in time enough to get some good rest.

Get Ahead of those in-demand work responsibility

Maybe you have a deadline that you are trying to meet on the job. You don't want to stay at work too late because you have other responsibilities that you are trying to finish before the end of the day. With the extra sun at the end of the day, you have a little more time to get ahead of your project and have a great start to the next day. While this is not something I recommend a lot. There are times we want to get ahead of some of our duties and have a less stressful beginning of the next day.

Spend time with the kids outside

Get the kids out of the house and away from those video games and let them take in some of the beautiful sun, and soak in some of nature's Vitamin D.Maybe you can play a little football outside in the yard or take the dog walking and conversate with the kids about their day. Having that extra sunlight at the end of the day is perfect for many outside occasions with the kids for everyone to enjoy and by the way you don't want to wait until it's too late to soak up some Vitamin D.
