400,000 Louisiana Residents are Unemployed

What is the state of Louisiana's economy? We are facing several hurdles and one of them is the high number of folks without jobs. Economist, Dr. Loren Scott says the numbers for April will be dramatically high. He expects to see our unemployment rate at 20% which means 300,000 people are without work. Dr. Scott says you have to add 110,000 to that number which brings the total in Louisiana to more than 400,000.

Dr. Scott serves on the Louisiana Economic Recovery Task Force and they are working to develop policy and other recommendations for the legislature to help jump-start the state’s economy in the short-term and improve it longer term.
