3 Men Arrested For Murder After Body Found In Sulphur

Three men have been arrested after a body was found on the corner of W. Burton Street and Stegal Road outside of Sulphur yesterday.

Blaine Daniel Kennedy, 21; Clifton Bergeaux Jr., 49, of Welsh; and a third person (more details coming later today) were arrested in connection with the murder.

The body has been identified as Steven Woodruff, 58, according to Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coats.

Coats said that the SPD received a call about a possible breaking and entering at a residence on Kim Street. Upon arriving, a man told officers that he got home around 11:00pm and the house looked like it had been burglarized and his father, Woodruff, was missing, along with his Ford F150 truck.

Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso said the body was wrapped in cloth and dumped on the side of the road.
