Prepare yourselves. Prepare for years — perhaps a lifetime — of speculation like the kind in this post. Because Zack Snyder leaving Justice League before the film was completed, and then Warner Bros. finishing the movie with the assistance of Joss Whedon and releasing his version of the movie, has created a legion of hardcore Zack Snyder fans who are insistent that a “Snyder Cut” of the movie exists, and that this mythical cinematic unicorn takes what was a fairly awful movie (I mean it was Justice League, you saw it) and turns it into a modern superhero masterpiece.

Frankly, I’m skeptical. But hope springs eternal for Snyderites. And one such fan got some small morsel of satisfaction when Snyder himself confirmed his musings on social media. First, said fan tweeted the following picture of Superman holding a slain Batman, an inversion of the events of Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:

Then Ramesh De Silva got an acknowledgement from Snyder over on the social media platform Vero:

Given that Snyder already killed off Superman in one of his movies, I love the idea that he might have then killed off Batman too in a later film. Hey, why not kill off all the DC heroes? By the end of the second Justice League movie maybe the only surviving members of the JLA would have been Snapper Carr and Alfred. I can’t imagine a more Zack Snyder thing to do in a superhero movie than that.
