Windshield Crack Repair

It's so aggravating...you are driving down the road, minding your own business and then suddenly, there's a gravel truck that throws tiny annoying rocks your way.  The next thing you know, you have a crack running across what was your perfectly good windshield.  It's not just your average crack but often one right in your line of sight.  What can you do?
