Have you noticed the ultra-green water in Westlake under the I-10 bridge? Well, here's the reason it's so green.

It seems that Phillips 66 is the cause of the green water, but it's not dangerous. In fact, it's a harmless, biodegradable dye that they injected in the water to run test on various systems within the Phillips 66 plant.

Spokeswoman Caroll Collins says they use the green dye to test for leaks in the system, since it's much easier to see than just plain, clear water. Collins also said that, once the systems are checked, the water is put back, green dye and all, into the environment.

Collins added that eventually, the dye will dissipate and the water will return to it's natural ugly brown color. I kinda like the green water better.
