If you're going to case a joint to steal something, don't ask the owner to show you around.

On Sept. 4, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles home in reference to a theft.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised while moving out of a mobile home she had previously rented, she was approached by two men, later identified as John W. Fontenot, 23, and Cody W. Stelly, 21, both of Lake Charles, stating they were interested in renting the mobile home.

When the victim returned a few days later to move the last of her belongings from the mobile home, she discovered several pieces of jewelry, collectibles and other items, worth over $8,000, had been stolen. After further investigation, detectives arrested Fontenot and Stelly in connection with theft.

Detectives recovered approximately $6,000 of the stolen items and returned them to the victim.

Fontenot and Stelly were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and each charged with theft over $500. Their bonds are still pending.

I'm not saying they're guilty...But they do look pretty arrogant.
