His name was Peter Ostrum. He is best remembered as "Charlie" in the 1971 version of the movie, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."

After making that movie, Peter pretty mcuh dropped out of sight as far as the movie industry is concerned. Unlike many child stars, his parents didn't rip him off and he didn't squander his money on drugs and booze.

Peter Ostrum dropped out of the acting industry shortly after his role in "willy Wonkda." The Dallas, Texas born actor went on to complete his schooling while living in Pennsylvania.

While attending school, Peter worked as a horse groomer at a Pennsylvania equine center. Obviously, that lit a spark because Ostrum went on to get a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Cornell.

Peter "Charlie" Ostrum is now a large animal vet at Countryside Veterinary Clinic in Lowville, New York!

Good to read about a child star who did something with his life, isn't it?
