I'm an audio equipment nerd, a gear-head if you will.  To say that I was excited to hear that one of the most iconic pieces of recording equipment is going up for auction next month would be an understatement.  Atlas Obsucra is reporting that the mixing console responsible for recording what is arguably the most famous rock song of all time will be available for you to buy!

The HeliosCentric console is a legendary piece of equipment through which has flowed some of the most amazing music of all time!  Led Zeppelin recorded most of their work at Headley Grange, but Stairway to Heaven was recorded using this console.  If that was the only masterpiece put together on this mixer, it would probably sell for a lot of money - but that's just the tip of the iceberg!  Hendrix, the Stones, Steven Stills, Clapton, Bob Marley and the Wailers, David Bowie, and very long list off the greats had their sounds processed by this incredible wood-paneled wonder.  The best part is - it still works!

This piece of rock and roll history will go up for auction at Bonhams, in London in December where it is expected to fetch 6 figures.
