The Calcasieu Parish Mayors and Parish officials will meet on Monday, November 9 at 10 a.m. in the Lake Charles Civic Center Mezzanine room, to issue a voting challenge the entire parish of Calcasieu. This effort is set to encourage residents to get out and vote ahead of the November 21 primary election.

According to Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach,

Calcasieu Parish leads the state in economic development, and each of us agrees that our parish can lead the state in voter turnout.

 

38.5 percent of registered voters in Louisiana showed up to the polls in the October election. In Calcasieu Parish, only 31.7 percent of voters casted a ballot, said the press release.

Early voting is set for Nov. 7 - Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. (except Sunday, Nov. 8 and Wednesday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day). Early voting locations are listed below:

  • Lake Charles—Calcasieu Parish Courthouse, 1000 Ryan St., Second Floor, Room
  • Sulphur—West Calcasieu Annex, 500A N. Huntington St.
  • Moss Bluff—Calcasieu Parish Library, 261 Parish Rd.
