Update — Missing Girl Safe

14-year-old Gabrielle Nicole Richard  had been reported missing earlier this week. According to authorities, she had not been seen since about 9:30 p.m. on Monday at her home on Elm St.

Luckily, this missing teen story has a happy ending

According to investigators, Richard left her home of her own free will and was not kidnapped. While it's not clear why she left, the good news is that she was found and had not been a victim of foul play.

Authorities report that, following the disappearance of the teen, they searched the home (with permission of the homeowner) of every sex offender in the Welsh area.

Kudos to the Welsh PD on wrapping up a scary case in short order!

The Allen Parish Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation of this case.
