There is a generation of kids that populated emergency rooms of the 1970s with scrapes, cuts, broken bones, and the occasional concussion thanks to Evel Knievel. Knievel was a daredevil's daredevil. Last night in Las Vegas famed stunt rider and showman Travis Pastrana paid homage to Evel by recreating three of Knievel's most iconic jumps.

The first jump on the schedule was to fly using his motorcycle over 52 crushed cars.

As you can see from the video, all went according to plan. Up next, Pastrana planned to sail over 16 buses. For Pastrana, that was no problem either.

Finally, the biggest and most nerve-racking jump was the jump over the fountains at Caesars Palace. When Knievel attempted this jump he crashed hard. For Pastrana and his modern-day motorcycle, the fountains at Caesars appeared to be no big deal.

So, there you have it. Three stunts recreated successfully by a man who has nothing but pure admiration for Evel Knievel. I can only imagine what could come next for Travis Pastrana. I guess if we see ramps and rocketships being created and hauled up to the Snake River Canyon for a jump then we'll have a pretty good idea.
