Between November of 1978 and March of 1988, Toto racked up a total of 10 Top 40 hits. It's been over a decade since the group toured, but now the surviving members say it's time to take the show back on the road.

Of course, Toto does have a very local connection: Lead singer Bobby Kimball was born in Vinton, Louisiana and played in and around the lake area for a few years before departing for Los Angeles in 1974.

Having said that, Kimball is not touring with the group on this tour.

The band currently includes guitarist Steve Lukather, keyboardists David Paich and Steve Porcaro, drummer Simon Phillips, bassist Nathan East and singer Joseph Williams, who joined the group in 1986 and appears on its last Top 40 hit, 1988's 'Pamela.'

The tour, which celebrates Toto's 35th anniversary, kicks off on July 26 in Belleville, Ont., and wraps up on Sept. 14 in Chandler, Ariz. Some of the dates are shared with Styx, Kansas or Michael McDonald.

This marks the band's first widespread tour since a 25th-anniversary jaunt that ended in 2004. The group plans to take its 35-year celebration to other parts of the world too. No word on whether or not Africa will be on the itinerary.
