The argument has see-sawed back and forth for years in Texas, what to do with the Astrodome.

After the late Bud Adams moved the Oilers to Tennessee, and the Astros built a new baseball-only stadium, the new Houston football team built their own place and so the Astrodome has sat basically empty and derelict, basically used once in the past two decades to house refugees from Hurricane Katrina in 2005…

But now no one can tear it down.. In Austin Friday the Texas Historical Commission voted to designate the Astrodome a State Antiquities Landmark, placing it in the same category as The Cotton Bowl, the State Capitol and The Alamo among others.  The iconic Astrodome was the worlds first indoor sports stadium.
