Cowboy Junior pitcher Michael Clemens went 4-4 last season with 54 strike outs in 79 and a third innings. This caught the attention of professional baseball scouts. It would now seem the right handed pitcher is going to begin his professional career.

The Louisiana State Police Grant A Wish Organization Troop D has granted wishes like meeting Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Spongebob and many more. They have sent local kids to many huge events. It's a great organization and the McNeese Cowboys agree. They hosted a fund raiser for the Grant a Wish at Friday nights Cowboys game.

It is getting real close football fans!  The LSU Tigers football team reported to camp yesterday and now today the McNeese Football players report to fall camp at the Jack Doland field house.

Football season is coming to an end for the McNeese Cowboys and this Saturday is their final home game against rival Lamar from Beaumont, Texas. It's homecoming week for the McNeese Cowboys which means a lot of events are going on.  Tonight is the annual McNeese Cowboys Homecoming parade in Lake Charles complete with Marching Bands,Cheerleaders and football team throwing stuff out to fans down the parade route. The McNeese Cowboys will be back at home this Saturday October 13th when they take on Central Arkansas. The Cowboys will also have a very special guest singing the National Anthem.  American Idol finalist and Westlake Louisiana's own Joshua Ledet will sing the anthem before Saturday football game.

Most people are playing it off as just a one time, mistake filled, injury riddled loss for McNeese. That is optimistic and a hard sell at this point. The 25-24 loss to Southeastern last night was a definite upset and hopefully not a sign of future problems.

The McNeese Cowboys will have their first home game of the season this Saturday and as part of the new season, MSU will debut the all new "Cowboy Corral". If you've missed out on tailgating in the past, The McNeese Athletic Department will launch a season of FREE tailgate parties this year!
