I used this soup a few years ago, mainly as a way to lose weight, but I found that I loved the flavor so much that it became one of my favorites to have anytime.

It really is super easy and it's loaded with nutrients.

It's a great way to lose weight and a great way to warm up these cold winter evenings.

Ingredients

1/2 head of cabbage (chopped)

1/2 large onion (chopped coarsely)

2 cans stewed tomaotes

2 cans chicken broth

1 can tomato paste

3 cloves of garlic finely chopped

1 pack frozen peas

1 pack frozen lima beans

3 large sliced carrots

1 package frozen turnip greens

1 cup coarsely chopped kale

1 can of kidney beans

lightly saute the onions and garlic

before the onions and garlic brown, add the tomato paste and stir in completely

add all the other ingredients and reduce the flame

cook this very slowly on a low flame. I usually let this mixture simmer for at least an hour. When to raw carrots are cooked, all you need is the pepper mill and you're set for a very nutritious, warming winter soup.
