Stevie Nicks Performs ‘Rhiannon’ with Lady Antebellum
'CMT Crossroads' has facilitated a series of entertaining collaborations between rock and country artists, and for the show's latest trick, they've hooked Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks up with Lady Antebellum.
The segment, scheduled to air Sept. 13, features Nicks and the Antebellums working together on performances of one another's hits, from Nicks solo cuts like 'Edge of Seventeen' and Mac hits such as 'Landslide' to Lady Antebellum smashes 'Need You Now,' 'Love Don’t Live Here,' and 'Golden.'
But why wait until the 13th when you can have an early sneek peak at the show? CMT has released a clip of the 'Crossroads' performance of Fleetwood Mac's 'Rhiannon,' written by Nicks for the band's self-titled LP in 1975. Nearly breaking the Top 10 during its initial release as a single the following year, it's gone on to become one of Nicks' (and Fleetwood Mac's) signature songs, and been covered by everyone from Waylon Jennings to Hole, but it's never been performed quite like this.
The live show, recorded at the Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles on Jan. 29 in front of approximately 1,000 fans, also reportedly included the two acts working together on a performance of Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind,' but CMT has yet to reveal the show's complete track listing. Stay tuned for further information.
