The Tony Award winning play "Fences" begins it's run this weekend at Lake Charles Little Theatre.

This sensational drama brings us the story of Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded as a black man from the major leagues during his prime, Troy's bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and his son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Fences won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play in 1987 and the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play in 2010.

Directed by Gabriel Brown Performances are 7:30 p.m. (2 p.m. on Sundays).
