When your phone rings and you don't recognize the number, do you answer it anyway?  I used to figure that if it's someone I know that isn't in my system, they could leave a message. I mean, how hard is it to say,"Bob, this is Bertha (I don't know anybody named Bertha, but I can tell you this much; If your name is Bertha, everyone will automatically put the adjective "big" before your name) call me back about the project."

But I've softened my attitude about wrong numbers and now I see them as a chance to confuse the heck out of someone. I don't know about you, but I would feel a great deal of pressure to call Bertha and pretend to know about "the Project."

Well, stand-up comic Jay Larson did just that.

So, next time you get a wrong number, have some fun with it.

By the way, if you get a call from Bertha, tell her, " the project has been kicked upstairs and you know how those guys drag their feet on these things."
