Shooting and Vehicle Burglaries Reported Near Nelson Road & Dove Lane

On the morning of Friday, August 3, at 1:00am, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was called out to the Nelson Road and Dove Lane area of Lake Charles in reference to a shooting.

According to a media release, "During the investigation, witnesses advised detectives approximately 4 or 5 people were seen running from the scene where the shooting took place. While still investigating the shooting CPSO received several complaints of vehicle burglaries, where guns were stolen, in the area of Ham Reid Road and Perry Lane in Lake Charles, near where the shooting took place. After further investigation detectives believe the two incidents are related. Detectives were able to obtain video surveillance from a local convenience store right after the shooting occurred, which shows a man entering the store, who they believe to be involved in both incidents."
