Sheriff’s Office in Acadia Parish has Boats Ready … Urge Those In Need to Call 911

The flooding in Acadia Parish has reached catastrophic levels. The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office wants residents to know there is help available when it's time to get out!

The flooding of the Mermentau River will rise to a point higher than the flood of 1972 or 2004 according to the National Weather Service.The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Department issued a statement to let residents know that boats are on stand by. If anyone finds themselves flooded and in need of assistance the Sherrif's Office is urging them to call 911. Here is the latest from the national Weather Service.

OPERATIONS AT LEEVAC SHIPYARD CAN BE AFFECTED. * FLOOD HISTORY... THIS FORECAST IS HIGHER THAN THE FLOOD OF 2004 AND NEAR THE FLOOD OF 1972.
