Meshach Taylor who played the loveable ex-con on 'Designing Women' passed away over the weekend at the age of 67.

 

Taylor got an Emmy nod for his portrayal of Anthony Bouvier on "Designing Women" from 1986 to 1993. Now, that's really saying something if you consider that the actor had to more than hold his own with four very strong female characters. In fact, Taylor's character that was only written for one episode.

Taylor's Character of Anthony Bouvier was not supposed to be a regular character on the show, but Taylor did such an amazing job that the producers decided that his character was a must have for the series.

After leaving 'Designing Women', Taylor went on to star opposite Harry Anderson in another successful comedy called 'Dave's World.'

Taylor died of cancer at his home near Los Angeles. He was 67 years old.
