SWLA residents are invited to recycle their electronics this Saturday on March 11, 2017 at the 9th Annual E-Recycle Day.  This event is being sponsored by CITGO Lake Charles Refinery, Team Green of Southwest Louisiana, Keep Calcasieu Beautiful, Stine, The City of Sulphur and Waste Management to encourage recycling in Calcasieu Parish.

Bring your unwanted electronics to the Stine parking lot in Sulphur, located at 2950 Ruth St. on Hwy 27, South of I-10.  Volunteers will be on hand to collect your e-waste, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Electronic Items Accepted: computers, monitors, computer peripherals, printers, fax machines, keyboards, photocopiers, TVs, VCRs, stereos, home and office phones, cell phones and consumer electronics, even light bulbs. Mercury items accepted include: lamps (fluorescent, high intensity discharge, neon, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium and metal halide), and thermostats and thermometers containing metallic or liquid mercury.

Items Not Accepted: smoke detectors, fire alarms, dehumidifiers, large appliances (refrigerators, etc.), medical equipment, and units with sludge or liquids.

Please note residents participating in the 9th Annual E-Recycle Day are asked to enter the Stine parking lot, through the South entrance to drop off their old electronics.  For more info see the flyer below or call the City of Sulphur at 337-527-4500.
