Sorry, Boudin Trail, this summer is all about the brews and with 17 craft breweries scattered across the state, getting your sip on this summer has never been easier.

According to Food Network Star season 11 alum and Louisiana native, Jay Ducote, Louisiana's craft beer culture began with the opening of the Abita Brewing Company in 1986, but that was just the start of Louisiana's love of libations. In a little over 30 years 16 more breweries have popped up all over the state.

From testing out the taproom at Parish Brewing Company in the "heart of Cajun Country" to taking a tour and tipping back a few at Crying Eagle Brewing Company in Lake Charles, these Bayou State beers are bringing local flavors to the forefront.

Tap into Louisiana's beer culture this summer by visiting all 17 breweries on the Louisiana brewery trail. You might not want to attempt visiting them all in one day, but if you're looking to wet your whistle these local spots will definitely quench your thirst.
