Single parents have a lot to contend with and one local organization would like to help relieve some of the burden. The organization, known as "Pink Life" will be conducting a diaper drive all month long. While the drive is in support of their community baby shower coming up in the spring, but according to the group's executive director, Ryan Clemons, the organization is very active all year long providing education and empowering classes for single parents.

While diapers are the main goal of the drive, Pink Life will also accept wipes, baby snacks, powder and any other items that can make the life of a single parent easier and more affordable. Parents who are enrolled with Pink Life attend the classes sponsored by the organization and earn points toward getting diapers and other necessary items.

You can drop off donations at Scarborough's Salon & Day Spa located at 3625 Nelson Rd. or at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church located at 119 N Bank St. both in Lake Charles.

This Saturday, beginning at noon, the group will host a 'Meet & Greet' at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church located at 119 N Bank St. Kids are welcomed to attend.
