I was watching TV Friday night when I got a traffic notification from the Louisiana State Police. Now, I'm used to getting these notices and they usually read something like, 'avoid Ryan and Prien Lake Road for the next 30 minutes due to a traffic accident.'

Imagine my surprise when I read, 'Avoid LA108 due to a plane crash on the roadway.'

Turns out that it was a controlled crash and the pilot of the Piper Cherokee received only minor injuries. The pilot's name has not been released but according to Louisiana State Police Spokesman, James Anderson, the pilot did a great job of landing the troubled plane.

Not often there is a happy ending when a plane goes down and I'm glad this was one of those cases.

The plane was on a routine flight from Chenault to it's home in Orange, Texas.

Thanks to our friends at KPLC for the great picture!
