I don't know about you, but just driving around looking at Christmas lights is an annual tradition for me. I have great memories of going "Christmas light looking" with my family. There were a few neighborhoods where everyone decorated and we would join the long lines og "gawkers: that kept traffic tied up for the entire experience.

It seems that, back then, we had to fend for ourselves when it came to finding neighborhoods with the best lights. Word would get around that a certain group of neighbors got together and decorated a few streets in the neighborhood and the race was underway.

I'll never forget the area of Port Arthur known as "Candy Cane Lane." It was a fairly large sub-division and every single house in the area was decorated beyond imagination. I don't know if Candy Cane Lane even still exists, but here are some great parts of the Lake Area where you and the family can go catch some Christmas spirit.

Bundle up, get some hot chocolate and try these area neighborhoods for you Christmas light adventure.
