The manhunt for Robert Handy has been going on for several days and last night, the CPSO boys caught a break when they spotted Robert Handy's maroon Ford F-150 in the parking lot of a business on Swisco Road in Sulphur. Authorities have been on the lookout for the truck since it was last seen leaving the scene of the shooting of Johnathan Brown on P.E. Daigle Road this past Sunday in Iowa.

When deputies approached the truck, Handy took off leading the deputies on a chase that lasted for about five miles. At one point, Handy's vehicle left the road near Burton and Smith roads and Handy, along with his passenger, Kenneth Pattum, attempted to run from the scene. Handy managed to get away, but Pattum was taken into custody as a suspect in the shooting. Pattum was arrested and charged with 2 counts of attempted 2nd degree murder and resisting an officer by flight.

Handy is still at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest on the same counts as Puttum. Judge Mike Canaday has set bond for both men at $1,302,000.

CPSO detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating Handy.  If anyone knows the whereabouts of him please call CPSO lead detective Roland Jones at 431-8015 and leave a message if he is unable to answer the phone -  or call 911.
