Here's a chance to take control of you neighborhood. Tonight, there will be a  Neighborhood Watch meeting and find out how you can protect your property and community.

The Oak Park Neighborhood Watch meeting will take place this evening at 5:30 pm at the Hillcrest/Bellard Community Center located at 2808 Hillcrest Dr in Lake Charles.  All Neighborhood Watch meetings are every 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm.

It's also sort of a block party because there will be free Bar B Q pork steaks and chicken dinners. You don't have to live in Oak Park to attend. This is an open meeting and people are encouraged to put together Neighborhood Watch areas for their communities.

Everyone is welcome to attend no matter what community you represent.  Get information from local law enforcement and city officials, like the type of crimes happening in your neighborhood, what to look for and what numbers to call if something happens or if you see something suspicious.   For more information call Mac Golden at 337-842-4171.
