Since the inception of National Night Out, neighborhoods all over the country get together and tell criminal elements in the area that they are being watched.

Get involved with your neighbors this year and join forces with law enforcement for the National Night Out-

Here's part of the official press release from The Lake Charles Police Department:

The Lake Charles Police Department will have the following activities:

Glad Tidings Church (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

All South Lake Charles East side watch groups will meet at Glad Tidings Church located at 3400 Texas Street (Youth Chapel.) There will be several vendors and guest speakers. Members are asked to bring a covered dish to share with everyone. Door prizes will be given away during the event.

Jones Manor Community Building (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)

North Lake Charles will meet at the Jones Manor Community Building at 1409 Saint Mary Drive.

1900 Roscoe J. Moore Street 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Rufus Mayfield Homes will host Bayou Bluff and Kingsley Court at 1900 Roscoe J. Moore Street.

Claire Gardens 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Claire Gardens will participate in their community located at 3441 Broad Street.

Sunlight Manor 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Of course, National Night Out is not limited to those organized activities. You can get together with your own neighbors and make your presence known on Tuesday night. You really can make a difference right there with your own neighbors.
