There was some cooking going on inside the trailer at 584 Rollins Road in Moss Bluff. They were not cooking hamburger helper. Sheriff's deputies arrived to serve a warrant for creation of a lab and possession with intent to distribute. They were just in time to catch the cooks in the act.  (Editor's Note ... Yesterday at about one p.m. deputies arrived at Melanie M. Barber's door  to serve the warrant. They noticed a disassembled methamphetamine lab outside of the residence and called the C.A.T Team. .

They discovered Barber and Austin P. Sonnier were inside a camper trailer located in the yard and they refused deputies orders to open the door. They were said to be cooking meth in the trailer.

 The Anti-Crime and Tactics team was called to the scene and arrested the pair without incident. They then obtained a search warrant . They found 33 small meth labs inside.

Barber and Sonnier were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with thirty-three (33) counts of creation/operation of a clandestine lab; possession of CDS II (meth).
Their bonds are still pending and the investigation is ongoing
