Cody is the son of Ed and Kelly Orgeron.  Ed played defensive linemen for the Northwestern State Demons from 1980 - 1983.  Ed was a Graduate Assistant coach at McNeese in 1985 under Cowboys coach John McCann. His brother Parker Orgeron also plays for the Pokes at Wide Receiver!

Cody's High School career consisted of 1 year of starting as a senior. He led Mandeville HS to a 10-4 record his senior season and a second round showing in the State Playoffs.  He completed 150 of 233 passes for 2,200 yards and 27 touchdown.  Cody averaged 186.3 yards per game passing and 11.2 yards per completion, he completed 64.4 percent of his passes.

Orgeron was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year.  He threw for 331 yards and completed 70 percent of his passes in a game against University Lab and threw for 200 yards or more four other games in the season.

Orgeron's first start this season came last week against a Southland Conference rival, the Central Arkansas Bears.  He finished the game 13 of 21 passing with 135 yards.  He also gained 45 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown!

Cody guided the team to a 23 - 21 victory to give the Pokes the sole ownership of first place in the Southland Conference!
