McNeese brings their perfect record back into Cowboy Stadium Saturday evening when they face Sam Houston State for the right to advance to the FCS quarterfinals next week. The Pokes are 10-0 while the Kats come in with a 9-3 record. McNeese beat Sam Houston 27-10, four weeks ago in Lake Charles.

The Cowboys have played just one game since that victory over Sam back on Nov. 7, a 20-14 win at Lamar to close out a perfect regular season for the fifth time in school history. The Bearkats have won three straight since then including a 42-39 win over Southern Utah in round 1 of the playoffs last Saturday in Huntsville.

The Pokes are 11-15 all-time in the FCS playoffs, but have not won since a come-from-behind victory over Villanova in 2002. The Cowboys have been to the FCS championship game twice in their playoff history. This is the 16th appearance for the Cowboys and the ninth for Sam Houston. Both teams are 0-2 in championship games.

Airtime is at 5 p.m. with kickoff at 6 p.m. in Cowboy Stadium.
