If you had ask anyone before the season started if they would be happy with 4-1 in the first five games .... I think they all would have said yes. McNeese baseball lost their first game of the season yesterday to Louisiana Tech 12-2.

It was much better weather than they had for the Tuesday game at Cowboy Diamond. Maybe the Pokes missed the cold weather as they gave up 12 runs on 14 hits. The Pokes pounded out 9 hits but only plated four runs. Senior Cole Prejean shut down the Louisiana Tech bats in the first four innings but later in his outing gave up three runs and that opened the flood gates. Louisiana Tech's Phil Maton pitched seven innings and gave up four hits and only one run.

There was a bright spot for the Pokes as Senior Andrew Guillotte tied for fifth place all time on the list of most stolen bases by a Cowboy. He is tied at 59 and only 19 away from the number one spot held by Jace Peterson.

The Cowboys have a three game home series this weekend against Bradley. The first game is Friday at six.
