Love the Music of the 50s and 60s? Don’t Miss ‘Marvelous Wonderettes’
Lake Charles Little Theater is launching its 2017 season with a great hit off-Broadway musical called “The Marvelous Wonderettes.” If you are a fan of some of the great music of the 50s and 60s, this show will certainly be your cup of tea.
Marvelous Wonderettes is set in 1958 at the Springfield High School prom. The main characters in the story, Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzie all share a dream of fame and fortune in the world of music.
The music from the show is comprised strictly of actual hits from the era depicted in the show. The music features everything from the Chordettes big hit “Mr. Sandman” to “Respect” to Dusty Springfield’s hit “Son of a Preacher Man. You’ll know every word to every song in this nostalgic look back at simpler times and an era of great rock and pop.
