Louisiana Driver’s License to Have a New Look

Don't get excited. they haven't found a way to make everyone look attractive in a driver's license photo, but the new design may help prevent identity theft and that's good news.

The real changes on the new license will be more security measures.

Starting in about 6 to 8 weeks, the Louisiana Driver's License will have a brand new look to it. This new format will be present for all driver's licenses, I.D. cards and handicap placards.

Other than the look of the license itself, there won't be any changes. You'll still go through the same basic process for obtaining and renewing your license and there will not be a fee increase either.

According to the Office of Motor Vehicles:

...the new licenses "contain multiple layers of security components and design features for greater security, protection of privacy and resistance to tampering."

This new design will be available state wide in about 6 to 8 weeks, but you don't have to switch to the new style until your current license expires.
