The fist half of the LSU Tiger's first game of the season was only pretty if you are a Wisconsin fan. The Tigers were (for the most part) a three and out offense and the Badgers were running the ball at will. The halftime score was 17-7 with the Badgers leading. It got worse when the second half began.

LSU's only shining moment in the first half was a Jefferson to Dural 80 yard touchdown strike. To make matters worse ... the Badgers got the ball to open the second half and promptly marched down the field for another touchdown. The LSU deficit was now 24-7 in the third quarter. An LSU comeback was looking like a long shot. Then the Mad Hatter reached into his bag of tricks and a fake punt woke up the Tigers. The LSU defense only gave up 28 yards from that point until the end of the game.

The Tigers then went on to reel off 21 unanswered points for an exciting 28-24 comeback win. Anthony Jennings made his first ever regular season start for the Tigers and went 9-21 with 231 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Kenny Hilliard had 11 carries for 93 yards in the fourth quarter alone. It was the Tigers fourth biggest comeback since 1960 and continues a nation's best 46 straight non-conference, regular-season game winning streak. It also kept Les Miles perfect in Season Openers. Here are some Tiger post game comments.
