It's so nice to see so many events for veteran's day. It's great to live in an area where people really get behind or veterans and current military personnel. We hope you will attend at least one of these events to honor our great veterans.

Veteran's Day Avenue of Flags: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Nov. 11  at the Orange Grove/Graceland Cemetery on Broad Street in Lake Charles. Hundreds of casket flags will line the drive through the cemetery, in honor of fallen veterans.These flags were donated just for this day. There will also be a history circle where replicas of eight previous United States flags are flown.

Leesville Veteran's Day: A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Central Louisiana Veterans Ceremony, 3348 University Parkway.

Maplewood Elementary: There will be a program for pre-k, first and second graders at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 and a program for grades 3-5 at 10 a.m.

Ralph Wilson Elementary: A program for veterans will take 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the cafeteria.

F.K. White Middle: Students have organized this Veteran's Day program, which will take place at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 in the boys gym.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School: Soaring Eagles Veteran's Day Program will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the gym.

Elton Elementary: The school's program begins at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the school.At 1 p.m., veterans representing each military branch will speak to students.

Kinder Elementary: The school's annual Veteran's Day Program will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the school's gym. A reception for veterans will follow in the school library.

Hathaway High School: Veteran's Day Program will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Charles F. Groth Gymnasium. Parents, alumni, and community members are invited, as well as all veterans, especially those who are students' family members.

South Beauregard Schools: The JROTC cadets will host a breakfast to honor veterans and military personnel will take place at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the junior high gymnasium. Guest speaker is Randle Rugg, a Wounded Warrior from Monroe. There will be performances by the school's cheerleaders, Knightline Dancers, JROTC, student council, fifth grade choir and the high school band. For information, call 337-725-6821, ext. 1160.

L’Auberge Casino Resort: The casino is honoring veterans and active duty military personnel with a complimentary breakfast or lunch at the Le Beaucoup Buffet from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Veteran's Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11. A veteran’s card or valid military ID is required. Texas Roadhouse: The Lake Charles location, 3431 Nelson Road, is serving a free lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to honor veterans and active-duty and retired military personnel. Proof of service — military or VA card, or discharge papers — is required. For information, click HERE.
