Easter is family time and here are a few great family 3events going on in the Lake Area this weekend.

Lake Area Easter Festival: April 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 1800 Country Club Road. For more information or to register, call the church at 337-480-1555.

DeRidder:

Easter Egg Hunt: April 17 at 6 p.m. at West Park. Preschool students will be at the park entrance by Ryan's, K-1st grade students will be at the tennis courts, and 2nd-3rd grade students will be at the pavilion. The Mayor's Youth Council is sponsoring the event.

 

Easter sunrise service: April 20 at 6 a.m. at the lakefront stage at Hodges Gardens State Park. The Cetenary choir will be joined by local choirs. Gates open at 4:30 a.m. and close at 5:45 a.m. for those attending the service. The service is open to the public and is free to attend. Those who stay in the park following the service will be required to pay regular admission fees.

Jennings:

Easter Egg Drop Eggstravaganza: April 19 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior's Church. For children ages 12 and under, there will be an egg drop in which thousands of plastic eggs will be dropped from a helicopter at 11 a.m. Admission is free. Activities will feature inflatables, train rides, face painting, horse rides, a dunking booth and more. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register at http://oscjennings.com/.

Sulphur

 

Egg-straviganza: April 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Victory Worship Center, located at 1410 W. Napoleon St. in Sulphur. The event will feature and egg hunt for children up to fifth grade as well as food and games.
