Okay, jazz fans, here's your chance. People are always complaining that live music in Lake Charles is always either "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Mustang Sally" or country. Fine, yes, there is a shortage of variety when it comes to live music in Lake Charles, but this Saturday, you have a chance to see some really amazing artists from the world of jazz.

I have the good fortune to have been asked to emcee this event and I jumped at the chance. Last year I hosted "Women in Jazz" and I was just blown away. We have some amazing jazz artist in this town and they are of the caliber that one might expect to see only in a large city.

Who will you see?

Join us while these beautiful and talented jazz artists grace the stage for the annual Jazz In The Arts "Women of Jazz" concert at the Central School Arts and Humanities Ben Mount Theater. Featured female artists are Charlene "Salemah" Broussard, Grace "Gigi" Smitherman, Leah Robinson, Eugenia Smith, Nandria Rocio, BreAnn Davis, Sarah Medwick, Sophie Medwick, Mikayla Smith, Laila Dugas, and much more. This is going to be a night to remember. We look forward to seeing you there!!

I believe it's very important that we support our local talents. WE have some amazingly talented people in this area and, I'm afraid we tend to dismiss them because they are local. Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about. Take for example Chester Daigle. If you're not familiar with Chester, let me tell you that he could get on stage anywhere in the world and wow people, but Chester chooses to stay in lake Charles.

Let's all get together and show this program our full support. Admission is only $10 for a great show. Once again, the show is at Central School and the music kicks off at 6 cp.m. I look forward to seeing you there.
