I had a rare opportunity this past Friday. I got to interview the 'Nuge.' That's right, Ted Nugent. I was a bit apprehensive about the interview because I really wasn't at all sure what to expect. I was pleased to find is that Ted Nugent is one heck of a nice guy.

In the interview, Ted and I talked a bit about his music and how he got started just like everyone else with a small garage band called The Royal High Boys. They were a typical high school cover band and, according the Nugent, they thought they were the "sons of Chuck Berry."

What I really wanted to know was how a kid growing up on the streets of Detroit became such and avid hunter and outdoors-man. Well, he addresses that and much more in the interview and I couldn't pass up the chance to challenge the man to a friendly shoot-out Saturday at Action Arms in Sulphur.

If we're allowed to do this, we'll have a friendly hand-gun shooting competition sometime Saturday afternoon. I'll lose, of course, but it will be fun.
