There's something inexplicably hilarious about watching other people crack up.  And watching professionals lose their characters is even funnier.

Forty years ago this week was the first episode of Saturday Night Live.  George Carlin gave the opening monologue that started the SNL ball rolling.  Over the years, many of our top comedians have passed through this show's episodes and into comedy history.
