Escalante golf issued a press release regarding the company acquiring Gray Plantation.

Current owner Harold “Spook” Stream handpicked Escalante to buy the property from the Stream family. Here is the info regarding the deal.

Escalante was handpicked by the Stream family, founders of the 2,000-acre master-planned Graywood community in which Gray Plantation and The Sports Club are located. Working in concert with the Streams, Escalante will ensure the golf and fitness facilities enhance Graywood’s reputation as one of Louisiana’s most livable communities.
“This is great news for Graywood, our members, and the region,” says Harold “Spook” Stream, CEO of The Stream Companies and developer of Graywood LLC. “We have a huge investment in this community so it is important that we have the right partner owning the clubs as we continue to build out Graywood. Escalante owns and manages some of the premier, highest-quality clubs in the country. We are thrilled that a company of their caliber has chosen to invest in Lake Charles and in the Graywood community. We should all be pleased that they recognize the world-class quality of our clubs and the fundamental strength of our region.”
Gray Plantation has been named one of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” by Golf Digest and is perennially recognized as one of the best courses in Louisiana by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.

Stretching to almost 7,200 yards from the back tees, the Rocky Roquemore-design bobs and weaves through a series of streams, offering incredible views of the surrounding landscape.

The Sports Club at Graywood is one of Southwest Louisiana’s elite fitness facilities, featuring a nearly 8,000-square-foot clubhouse designed for luxury and performance excellence. The club is home to a state-of-the-art fitness center; 10 lighted tennis courts (eight hydro-clay, two hard-tru); multiple pools; and locker rooms complete with steam and whirlpools.
“The Stream family has created a community where residents have access to some of the premier golf and fitness facilities in Louisiana,” says David McDonald, president of Escalante Golf. “We look forward to working closely with them to provide meticulous service and enhance the member experience at Gray Plantation and The Sports Club.”

The acquisition of Gray Plantation and The Sports Club at Graywood strengthens Escalante’s portfolio, which has grown from four properties to 13 the past three years. The company currently has some of the most prestigious clubs in their respected markets including Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Fla.; The Raven at Three Peaks in Silverthorne, Co.; The Crosby National in Rancho Santa Fe; and Country Club of the North in Beavercreek, Ohio.

“It is recognition of our vision for the community. We have always felt we could attract desirable partners to the region to ensure Graywood offers its residents and members the greatest quality of life in Southwest Louisiana,” continued Mr. Stream.
