After eight years of berating his fellow doctors , dispensing tough-love medical advice,  and playing a character with almost no redeeming social values, Dr. Gregory House will finally be hanging up his stethoscope and cane.

Granted, the show had become somewhat predictable. We all knew that someone would have a convulsion, show up at the hospital, get misdiagnosis, have another fit, get another misdiagnosis, then just before the final commercial break Dr. House would have an epiphany and all would be set right.

I've always thought that they should have had a shoe right after "House" that concerned a lawyer that specialized in Mal-Practice cases. He could make a fortune just off Gregory House! Still, I'll miss the show.

The statement describes House as an “enigmatic creature” and that it’s best for him to retire while there is still some “promise and mystique in the air.” It also goes on to describe the decision to end the Fox medical drama as a “painful” one.

And yet, while remote, it’s possible this may not be the end of ‘House.’ Fox president of entertainment Kevin Reilly said NBC Universal, which owns the show, could choose to move it to NBC.

What do you think? Has ‘House’ run its course? Or would you like to see it resurrected on another network?
