Giant Easter Egg Hunt in Jennings Saturday

It is Louisiana's single largest Easter Egg Hunt and it's right here in SWLA, it's fun and it's FREE!

The EggDrop Eggstravaganza is Saturday from 11 AM - 2 PM and thousands of laughing children are expected to turn out in the chase for some 50,000 plastic eggs that will be safely (the field cleared of people and bunnies) dropped from a hovering helicopter.

Special Needs Children Get Red Carpet Treatment

When you're registering (to register now click here) you can indicate your child has special needs, and receive a VIP pass and get preferred treatment and access to the field.

Will 5,000 Kids Just Be Chaos?

It'll be fun, it is the church's fifth year at it and they've learned a thing or two. The event (no admission charge) begins at 11 AM with air inflatable bouncy stuff for the kiddos.

Then at Noon 0-4-year-olds get a shot, parents/guardians are allowed to help this age bracket get the eggs. At 12:30 the 5-8-year-olds take the field followed at 1 PM by the 9-12-year-olds.

The field is cleared while a full sized helicopter hovers over dropping the plastic candy-filled eggs, the prop wash spreading the eggs equitably.

This year's event will also feature five food vendors to keep everyone's energy up (the food vendors aren't free so bring a few dollars for a snack or two)

If there's bad weather keep checking the website eggdropla.com for updates, but while it may be a little cloudy and humid, rain is not expected in the middle of the day.

All you need to bring is a basket for your child, a few bucks for the food vendors and of course get ready to take tons of photos, there will be an Easter Bunny for photo taking and that's it! Go, bring the kiddos and have fun!
