Mardi Gras 2013 gets into high gear starting Friday night in the Lake area and with the Mardi Gras holiday being celebrated this Tuesday, garbage and trash pick ups times have been changed.

Here is the information you will need to know when your garbage and trash will be picked up in the Lake Charles area and in Calcasieu Parish.

City of Lake Charles:

The City of Lake Charles will observe the Mardi Gras Holiday on Tuesday, February 12.  There will be no trash or garbage pickup on that day.  Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, February 13.   Monday, Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator will not be open on Tuesday, February 12.

In the parish:

All parish departments will be closed during the Mardi Gras holiday on Tuesday, February 12th and will re-open Wednesday, February 13th.

Garbage and trash pickup will run as normally scheduled for Waste Management and Jim Bill customers.
