One thing that really upsets me is to see someone driving down the road with a kid standing in the front seat. My wife often tells me that someone is gonna kick my b^%% someday because I will call them out. I have even followed people and called the police. This kind of disregard for a child's safety is just not acceptable. I know my friends with the Louisiana State Police feel the same way. That's why they are having a free child passenger safety seat check this weekend in Lake Charles.

The event will be this Saturday from noon till three at Lake Charles Toyota at 3905 Gerstner Memorial Drive. According to the Louisiana State Police it is estimated that at least 3 out of 4 child restraint systems are being misused. This is a chance to make sure you are using the correct seat for your child and that you are using it correctly.

During the past 30 years, approximately 8,959 lives have been saved by the use of child restraints according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). I know you hope your child's safety seat will never be put to the test, but it would give you some peace of mind to have it inspected.
