Fourth Grader Speaks Out About Standardized Testing

Talk about a hot topic! Here in SOWELA, lines have been drawn and people have staunchly taken sides on this issue. People have addressed the school board and let their feelings known about 'Common Core' as well as standardized testing, but I'm willing to bet that very few have been as eloquent as this young lady.

Her name is  Sydney Smoot recently gave an impassioned, eloquent speech to the Hernando County School Board in Florida about why she opposes the state's new standardized testing that's now in place. She expresses herself better than most grown-ups and, no doubt, moved the crowd completely.

Get ready to hear and be moved by this young ladies address to a crowd of grown-ups. What a kid.
